Today, documents on feasibility study, prepared for construction of Batumi (Chorokhi)-Sarpi road, were reviewed at the technical board, in Roads Department of Georgia.

Batumi-Sarpi road is constituent part of East West Highway; its estimated length is 12 km. At the technical board meeting, several options of Batumi-Sarpi direction were discussed, out of which the  optimal option will be selected and preparation of detailed design will be started.

Batumi-Sarpi road continues to the border of the Republic of Turkey. Due to intense traffic, traffic jams are frequent on this road, and movement is delayed. After completion of the project, the problem will be completely solved. Transit turnover will be increased, and travel time will be reduced.

Batumi (Chorokhi)-Sarpi road will join Batumi bypass road and construction of the highway in Adjara region will be completed with this project.
