In Kakheti, rehabilitation of 4 sections of Tsnori-Dedoplistskaro-Kvemo Kedi road is ongoing, 37.5 km in total.

First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and Chairman of Roads Department Irakli Karseladze, Deputy Chairmen and representatives of the World Bank’s mission inspected ongoing works.

According to the pilot project (PBC – performance based contract), the bidding winner company takes responsibility to carry out maintenance of the entire road, including rehabilitation and its further maintenance work over 5 years.

The company will carry out road rehabilitation during the first 2 years and maintenance works – over the next three years.

Within rehabilitation of Tsnori-Dedoplistskaro-Kvemo Kedi road, the following was envisaged: entire rehabilitation of road pavement; also, arrangement works of culverts, artificial structures, entrances to private yards, bus stops and enclosed bus stops, junctions with local roads and horizontal marking of the road.

Rehabilitation of 18 km was completed on this road, while works are actively underway on remaining sections of the road.

According to PBC model, rehabilitation and maintenance of 117 km road in total will be carried out on Tsnori-Dedoplistskaro-Kvemo Kedi, Iliatsminda-Bodbe-Gamarjveba and Chalaubani-Signagi-Anaga roads in Kakheti region. The project started in 2016 and will be completed in 2021. The total cost of the contract is GEL 40 000 000.
