Technical Board of Roads Department reviewed technical parameters of mountain roads: Zemo Imereti-Racha, Kutaisi-Bagdati-Sairme-Abastumani-Benara, Sno-Juta-Roshka-Shatili-Omalo-Khadori gorge-Batsara-Akhmeta and Lentekhi-Mestia roads and agreed on geometrical parameters and pavement type of road.

In addition, discussion topics were restoration measures to upgrade an embankment collapsed at km 56 of Pshaveli-Abano-Omalo road and implementation of additional bank protection works at river Duruji. 

At the meeting of Technical Board, First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and Chairman of Roads Department Irakli Karseladze discussed a necessity of implementation of innovative approaches during implementation of design works.

 “In the process of construction-rehabilitation, design is a stage, which is the best time for implementation of innovative methodologies through summarizing the opinions of professionals in this field. At Technical Board, considering modern design standards, in addition to representatives of the Department, new design methods can be submitted by private design organization” – Irakli Karseladze said.

In addition to specialists of the Department, the meetings of Technical Board were attended by representatives of different design organizations.
