Roads Department carries out construction of an 18.5 km section (Lot 2) of Samtredia-Grigoleti road in intensive mode.

Construction project of Samtredia-Grigoleti Lot 2 envisages construction of 18.5 km 4-lane asphalt concrete road, 16 bridge crossings, including 3 interchanges (viaduct), culverts and underpasses.

At present, arrangement works of road foundation, culverts, underpasses and construction works of bridges are ongoing.

The goal of the project is to ensure rates of increasing traffic flows on international road with the highest intensity across the country as well as safe travel and uninterrupted transit traffic.

Lot 2 of Samtredia-Grigoleti road will pass through the town of Lanchkhuti and the following villages in Lanchkhuti municipality: Japana, Kviani, Nigoiti and Kvemo Shukhuti. 

Contractual cost of this section amounts to 254 million GEL. About 400 people are employed in the works.
