Construction of the 4th section of Samtredia-Grigoleti high-speed highway is actively ongoing. The construction project envisages: construction of new directional 4-lane asphalt concrete road on a 9.5 km section, parallel viaduct, interchange, reinforced concrete underpass and culvert.
The 4th section passes through the territory of Lanchkhuti, namely, to the north of the villages of Khazhalia and Akhalsopeli, passes through a certain part of the village of Supsa from the north and connects to Samtredia-Lanchkhuti-Grigoleti road at the end of this village.
At this stage, arrangement works of embankment, culverts and underpasses are actively ongoing.
Samtredia-Grigoleti road is a part of spatial development of the country – one of the important directions of 4-point plan, an initiative of Prime Minister George Kvirikashvili.
Within the spatial arrangement, existing roads, existing sections of high-speed highways and transit corridors passing through Georgia will be in compliance with the modern standards, new roads will be constructed and a whole network will be formed, as a result of which, necessary primary infrastructure will be equally accessible in all regions.
A donor of Samtredia-Grigoleti road is the European Investment Bank. Cost of construction works is 113 million GEL and up to 370 people are employed.
