Roads Department carries out the construction of Argveta interchange section of Zestaponi-Kutaisi bypass road under the E-60 East West Highway.

The project is being carried out on Zestaponi-Kutaisi new bypass road. The Argveta interchange starts in the village of Argveta in the territory of Zestaponi district.

Construction of interchange envisages performance of rotating functions for traffic flows of the main road as well as connection of different parts of Argveta to each other and to the highway.

At this stage, construction works of the main constructions of reinforced concrete culverts, passages and viaduct are completed.

At present, construction of viaduct structures envisaged by the project is underway, namely, arrangement works of header, also, construction of reinforced concrete wings supporting an embankment for two passage structures. Besides, arrangement works of foundation for road pavement are being carried out.  

Contractual cost of the works is GEL 6 924 842 and EUR 2 588 662. Construction works are being carried out with the financial support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency. Construction works started in May 2017 and will be completed by the end of this year. A total of 156 people were employed within the project.

In 2017, a total of 131 projects for arrangement of road infrastructure were completed In Imereti region. A road section with a length of 19 km was constructed under the highway. Rehabilitation works were carried out on 200 km of road.
