Roads Department will complete construction works of a new bridge crossing located on the dry ravine at km 113 of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road, in the village of Kobi, Kazbegi municipality, before the deadline.

Instead of an existing bride constructed in the 80s, which is no longer subject to restoration, an alternative new bridge has been constructed, which will fully satisfy transportation needs. Design and building of construction-reconstruction works were carried out in parallel mode.

Under the project: construction of a new bridge crossing with 3 spans and a length of 92m and the arrangement of deformation seams, outside and middle piers, steel barriers and asphalt concrete pavement was carried out. Also, horizontal marking works of the bridge carriageway were implemented.

At present, main works on the bridge are completed. Arrangement works of gabion walls for the new bridge are ongoing.

The project is financed by the state budget and its cost is GEL 4 846 900. Design and building works started in October 2016 and will be completed in October 2017. Under the project, a total of 45 people were employed.
