Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia completed construction and reconstruction works of a 12 km section of Tianeti-Zaridzeebi-Zhinvali secondary road. The road is a very important infrastructure project. Local residents and tourists will be able to use an upgraded and comfortable road.

An Asphalt concrete pavement on km10-km23 section of Tianeti-Zaridzeebi-Zhinvali road remained fragmentally, while water protection system was out of order. After completion of the project, existing problems have been fully resolved.

The construction section passes through the villages of Tianeti and Dusheti municipalities: Zaridzeebi, Zemo Bichvinta, Verkhveli, Zemo Sharakhevi, Zenamkhari, Iarajulebi, Ivliantgori, Lakhato, Sakrechio, Kvemo Sharakhevi, Khoptsa, Jojeti, Pudznari and Bodavi.

Arrangement works of asphalt concrete pavement, artificial structures, 2 bridge crossings, reinforced concrete pipes, ditches, support walls and gabions were implemented in compliance with the project. Besides, the arrangement works of junctions with local roads, entrances to private yards, bus stops and enclosed bus stops, road signs, signposts and road encircling works with the metal cable were implemented. Horizontal marking of the road was carried out.

The road opening ceremony was attended by Minister of the Regional Development and Infrastructure Zurab Alavidze, Chairman of Roads Department George Seturidze, majoritarian MP of Tianeti Zakaria Kutsnashvili and the representatives of the local government.

The project cost is GEL 21 536 367 and it is financed by the state budget. Works started in May 2014 and completed in July 2017. A total of 80 people were employed in the works.
