Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia carries out rehabilitation of the 8 km section of Didi Dmanisi-Dmanisi-Gomareti-Bediani secondary road.

This section has not been rehabilitated for more than 25 years, the road was severely damaged with asphalt concrete pavement remaining in some areas, ditches and culverts were not working properly.

The project envisages: arrangement works of asphalt concrete pavement, culverts, ditches and gabions. Entrances to private yards and junctions with local roads will be arranged, works of road encircling, installation of road signs and horizontal marking works of road will be carried out. Besides, rehabilitation of the bridge crossing located over the ravine is underway.

At this stage, arrangement of ditches and foundation and arrangement works of asphalt concrete bottom layer are underway.

The section to be rehabilitated is located in Dmanisi Municipality and passes through the following villages: Ganakhleba, Sarkineti and Gomareti.

As a result of the rehabilitation of this road, tourists and villages of Dmanisi Municipality will be able to use an upgraded and comfortable road.

The project is being financed by the state budget and its cost is GEL 4 441 700. Rehabilitation works will be completed by the end of this year.
