Basic works for construction of 15.2 km section of Zestaponi-Kutaisi bypass road under the highway have been completed. There are left only additional works on transportation interchange. Implementation of these works is being carried out based on the request of the population.   

Within the construction project of Zestaponi-KUtaisi bypass road, 4-lane highway with cement concrete pavement, 9 parallel bridges, 2 interchanges, 5 pedestrian bridges, underpasses and reinforced concrete culverts were constructed on 15.2 km section. 

Chairman of Roads Department George Seturidze inspected performed works on-site.

After completion of construction of Zestaponi-Kutaisi section, 56.5 km section of Zestaponi-Kutaisi-Samtredia road will become fully operational.

Construction of Zestaponi-Kutaisi bypass road will increase traffic safety on E60 highway, reduce transportation costs and promote the growth of transit traffic.

Construction works are being carried out with the financial support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency. A total of 360 people are employed in the project.
