Financial proposals for the international bidding for construction of Samtredia-Grigleti third section under E60 highway have been opened in the Roads Department. A total of 14 companies submitted technical proposals, out of which 5 companies have been selected and their financial proposals will be evaluated.

Construction of 12 km section of Samtredia-Grigoleti road (3^rd section) is financed by the European Investment Bank and the European Union. The construction project envisages construction of four-lane asphalt concrete road, 6 bridge crossings, 2 interchanges and underpasses. Mentioned section will pass through the town of Lanchkhuti and the villages of Lanchkhuti Municipality, in Guria region.

Samtredia-Grigoleti road (includes a total of 52 km long section) starts from the Ochopa river at km 42 of Zestaponi-Kutaisi bypass-Samtredia road and ends at the Supsa River, on the territory of Grigoleti.

The project of modernizing this road into the highway is being carried out in 4 sections. Works on the first, second and fourth sections are already ongoing.

Mentioned section is a part of spatial development of the country – important direction of 4-point plan initiated by Prime Minister George Kvirikashvili.

A project goal is to provide road safety of vehicles and uninterrupted transit traffic on the international road, which has the highest intensity throughout the country. The project implementation period is 2017-2019.
