New bypass roads of Bakurtsikhe-Tsnori and Gurjaani-Telavi will be constructed

Financial proposals were open in the Roads Department in order to prepare documentation for the construction of Bakurtsikhe-Tsnori and Gurjaani-Telavi bypass roads. Construction of the mentioned roads will be carried out under the Third Secondary and Local Roads Project (SLRP III).  

Bakurtsikhe-Tsnori and Gurjaani-Telavi bypass roads are 16 km and 30 km long sections, respectively.  

The company, which wins the bidding, shall submit the Feasibility Study, Preliminary Design and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment documentation for the construction of Bakurtsikhe-Tsnori and Gurjaani-Telavi bypass roads within 9 months.  In addition, this company shall prepare bidding documentation for design and building of these roads. In order to prepare abovementioned documents, financial proposals of 3 companies, which overcame minimum qualification-technical score, were open. Preparation of these documents is financed by the World Bank.

Bakurtsikhe-Tsnori and Gurjaani-Telavi bypass roads are the part of spatial development of the country, considered in 4-point reform plan initiated by Prime Minister George Kvirikashvili. Within the spatial development, existing roads will be in compliance with modern standards, new roads will be constructed and a unified road network will be arranged, therefore, essential primary infrastructure will be equally accessible to all regions.
