Based on information of Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, meteorological conditions are  complicated throughout Georgia, representatives of Roads Department  are performing road cleaning works for 24 hours. deicing salt is being spread and equipment is mobilized and  maintenance works are carrying out to maintain uninterrupted traffic flow.

Due to intensive snow ,clear ice and avalanche hazard special restrictions are established on different sections of the roads:

Due to clear ice and intense snow traffic at km138-km193 (Chumateleti- Zestaponi) of Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze road is forbidden for trailers and semi-trailers, traffic is free for other mode of transport. Traffic is free at other sections of the road.

As notified by  National Environmental Agency,  due to intensive snow  avalanche hazard exists on Gudauri(Posta)-Kobi  section of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road and traffic is forbidden for all mode of transport.

Due to intensive snow and clear ice traffic at Mleta-Gudauri(Posta) section of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road  is forbidden for trailers and semi-trailers and for buses with more than 30 seats,  traffic is free for other mode of transport by application of antiskid chains. Traffic is free for vehicles with two or more main axis.

Traffic restrictions effective on other roads:

Due to heavy snow, freeze and clear ice, traffic at km36-km58 (Verona-Shuamta) section of Vaziani-Gombori-Telavi road is permitted by application of antiskid chains. Movement is free for vehicles with two or more main axis. Traffic is free on other sections of the road.

Due to complicated meteorological conditions (intense snow, storm, snow drifts and clear ice), traffic at km1-km36 of Akhalkalaki-Kartsakhi ( Turkey border) road is forbidden  for trailers, semi-trailers and for buses with more than 30 seats. Traffic is free for other mode of transport.

Due to complicated meteorological conditions (intense snow, storm, snow drifts and clear ice),  traffic is forbidden for all mode of transport at km90-km112 (Ninotsminda-Armenian border) section of Akhaltsikhe-Ninotsminda road.Traffic is free at other sections of the road.

Due to intensive snow and clear ice traffic at km1-km22 of Alpana-Tsageri road is forbidden for  trailers and semi-trailers and for buses with more than 30 seats, traffic for othed mode of transport is permitted by application of antiskid chains. Traffic is free for vehicles with two or more main axis.

Due to clear ice and intense snow, traffic t at km71-km188 (Khaishi-Ushguli) section of Zugdidi-Jvari-Mestia-Lasdili road is forbidden for trailers, semi-trailers and buses with more than 30 seats. Traffic is free for other transport. but for other mode of transport movement is permissible by application of antiskid chains. Traffic is free for vehicles with two or more main axis. Traffic is free at km1-km70.

Due to snow and clear ice, traffic movement at km36-km60 section (Nakerala Pass) of Kutaisi-Tkibuli-Ambrolauri road is forbidden for trailers and semi-trailers and for buses with more than 30 seats, but for other mode of transport movement is permissible by application of antiskid chains. Traffic for tandem-drive vehicles is free.

Due to snow and clear ice, traffic at km87-km106 of Batumi-Akhaltsikhe road is permissible by application of antiskid chains. Traffic is free for vehicles with two or more main axis.

In view of created circumstances, Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia urges population to use winter tyres, technically acceptable vehicles and follow traffic restrictions established on roads.
