Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia completed admission of bids proposed by bidder companies for the construction of a third section of Samtredia-Grigoleti road within E60 highway. A total of 14 companies have proposed their bids. The Department has already started technical evaluation of submitted bid proposals. Companies’ financial proposals will be opened only if these companies comply with the criteria requested by bidding.
Construction of Samtredia-Grigoleti 12 km road section (Lot III) is financed by the European Investment Bank. The project envisages the construction of 4-lane asphalt concrete road, 6 bridge crossings, 2 road interchanges, and field and cattle exits. Mentioned road section will pass through Lanchkhuti Municipality.
Samtredia-Grigoleti road (includes a total of 52 km of road) starts at km 42 of Zestaponi-Kutaisi bypass-Samtredia, at river Ochopa and Grigoleti area, and ends at river Supsa. The project for upgrading of mentioned road into the highway is being implemented in 4 sections (lots). Works are already underway at the first, second and fourth sections.
Third section of Samtredia-Grigoleti road is a part of spatial development of the country, which is one of the directions considered in 4-point Governmental reform plan, initiated by Prime Minister George Kvirikashvili.
The project will be implemented between 2017 and 2019.
