Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia starts the preparation of detailed design for Chumateleti-Khavi road under the Fourth East-West Highway Improvement Project.

At this stage, financial proposals, submitted for the preparation of detailed design for the construction of Chumateleti-Khevi road section under E60 highway, are open. The mentioned 12 km of road is an integral part of Chumateleti-Argveta road (Rikoti Pass section) and represents one of the most complex road sections.  

Financial proposals for the supervision of construction works of Zemo Osiauri-Chumateleti road (eastern portal of Rikoti tunnel) are also open. The mentioned 14 km section of road, which goes to the Rikoti Pass tunnel, represents the continuation of Agara-Zemo Osiauri road. A new road will bypass Khashuri, Surami and Chumateleti from the north and appear at Rikoti tunnel.  

The mentioned road sections represent the part of spatial development of the country – one of the directions considered in four-point Governmental reform plan initiated by Prime Minister George Kvirikashvili.
