Rehabilitation of Alpana-Chrebalo road is ongoing

Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia provides photo materials reflecting rehabilitation progress of Alpana-Chrebalo road.

Rehabilitation of 18km  (km50-km70) Alpana-Chrebalo section of Qutaisi-Alpana-Mamisoni secondary road is ongoing.

Project is implemented  by financial support of the World Bank under the Third Secondary and Local Roads Project (SLRP III).

Section to be rehabilitated is located in the territory of Tsageri and Ambrolauri municipality, on the left side of river Rioni and passes 12 villages: Alpana, Adjara, Zogishi, Tsageri, Zemo Sairme, Kvemo Sairme, Chrebalo, Zeda Gvardia, Kveda Gvardia, Zeda Chkvishi, Chkvishi, Kvishari.

Design considers: arrangement of road bed, two layer asphalt-concrete pavement, culverts, supporting walls, shoulders, ditches, gabions, and ditches, entrances to the private yards, junctions, bust stops and enclosed bus stops; installation of new road signs and provision of horizontal marking.

At this stage, arrangement of roadbed, structures and asphalt-concrete pavement are progressing.

Project cost is GEL 10 142 652. Works started in May of the current year and would be completed in 2017.
