Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia provides photo materials reflecting works of river bank protection works on river Alazani in the village Velistsikhe.

Bank  protection works are ongong on river Alazani in the village Velistsikhe, Gurjaani municipality.

Due to heavy rains, mentioned section had been washed out intensively , which  caused erosion and  there was the danger of flooding of the houses of locals.

Under the project 26 meters high  flooding and erosion prevention gabion would be done, which will protect the river bank.

Cost of the project is 399 499 and river bank protection works will be complited at the end of the current year.
