Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure is starting construction of Samtredia-Grigoleti III section.

The project for upgrading of 52 km Samtredia-Grigoleti  road into the highway is being implemented in 4 sections (lots). The goal of the project is ensure road user safety and uninterrupted transit traffic.

Acceptance of technical proposals of Samtredia-Grigoleti third section started and construction works will start after that winner company will be announced.

Mentioned section starts from Lanchkuti city and runs to village Nigvziani and Khajalia. Project envisages construction  of  12km four-lane asphalt-concrete road, 3 bridges, 2  road interchanges and 9 underpasses.

Mentioned section crosses through important populated area of  Lanchkhuti Municipality and runs through villages: Gvimbalauri, Kvemo Chibati, Lesa, Jurukveti, Nigvziani and Khajalia.

The project will start in current year and will finish in 2018, under the financing of European Investment Bank.
