Deputy Chairman of Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Irakli Khergiani , inspected rehabilitation works of 8,4 km section of Didi Dmanisi-Dmanisi-Gomareti-Bediani road.
Section to be rehabilitated is located at the territory of Dmanisi municipality and runs through the villages: Karabulakhi, Akhasa, Velispiri and Ganakhleba. Mentioned section has not been upgraded for 30 years, road was badly damaged and only fragments of asphalt-concrete pavement had remained.
Project considers construction of asphalt-concrete pavement, arrangement of culverts, ditches, gabions, junctions, entrances to private yards, safety barriers, road signs and horizontal marking. Also construction of one new bridge crossing at river Akha and rehabilitation of the existing bridge at river Shuakhrami.
At this stage, construction of the road base and asphalt-concrete pavement works are ongoing. Project is financed from the state budget and its cost is GEL 3 149 000.
