Deputy Chairman of Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Irakli Khergiani inspected rehabilitation works of Martvili Monastery.
Martvili Monastery was built in VII century. Asphalt-concrete pavement was badly damaged on Monastery access road . As a result of rehabilitation , tourists and piligrims will use comfortable and renewed road to Martvili Monastery. Also, road access to Monastery’s agricultural and household buildings will improve.
Project considers: arrangement of the carriageway base, structures, entrances to private yards, public transport stops and enclosed bus stops,junctions and cuvettes. Also, safety barriers, road signs and carriageway marking.
Currently, road base construction , arrangement of gabions and concrete ditches are ongoing.
Project is financed from the state budget and its cost is GEL 441 470. Rehabilitation will be completed in 2016.
