Rehabilitation of Chorokhi bridge is progressing

Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia provides photo materials reflecting rehabilitation progress of Chorokhi Bridge in the category of weekly pictures gallery.

Chorokhi Bridge, located at km 110 of Senaki-Poti-Sarpi road, is one of the important road links in region. It is located on Georgia -Turkey connecting highway. It connects Batumi with closest seaside villages, coastal resort of Gonio and a few other similar settlements, finally leads to the State border with Turkey.

The length of the bridge is  473 m and the width is 11.5 m. Project considers: enforcement of piers, replacement of supporting parts, rehabilitation of superstructure, upgrading of expansion joints, carriageway and damaged slabs and arrangement of new sidewalks; Also, formation of river bed, rehabilitation of bridge approaches and provision of horizontal road marking.

Currently, dismantling of protective and leveling layer at bridge deck is ongoing.

After rehabilitation, international traffic flow between Turkey and Georgia will be improve that will assist to tourism promotion. 

Project is financed from the state budget and its cost is GEL 2 929 440.  It will be completed in summer 2016.
