Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia provides photo materials reflecting rehabilitation progress of Shuamta-Chqvishi road in the category of weekly pictures gallery.

Rehabilitation of 4,5km secondary road is at completition stage. Rehabilitation section is located in the region of Imereti and runs through the densely populated villages Shuamta and Chqvishi.

The way is connected to the House museums of  Galaktion and Titsian Tabidze and makes it important from the touristic point as well.  Mentioned road has not been upgraded for 25 years and it was functioning in amortized condition.

Rehabilitation of 4.5-km road section  includes reconstruction of  asphalt-concrete pavement and arrangement of   concrete parapets, traffic signs, road junctions and entrances to the yards. Also provision of  horizontal marking works.

At this stage, Main works have been already competed. Road signs and horizontal marking are arranged.

After rehabilitation, the number of visitons will increase in Galaktion and Titsian Tabidze museums. Also, local population’s social-economical comditions will improve.

The project, which cost is 1 million 468 thousand, has been financed by the state budget and  will be completed before the summer of the current year.
