Rehabilitation of Kintsvisi Monastery access road started

Deputy Chairman of Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Irakli Khergiani inspected rehabilitation works of XIII  century historical monument- Kintsvisi Monastery  access road. The Roads Department implements rehabilitation project at 3,3 km of mentioned secondary road. Rehabilitation project considers: construction of two-layer asphalt-concrete pavement, arrangement of entrances to private yards, public transport stops and enclosed bus stops. Arrangement of structures,existing culverts,shoulders,ditches and gabions.

Mentioned road couldn’t provide safe and comfortable movement of transport. Practically nothing was maintained from asphalt-concrete pavement.  Some sections were so amortized that surface waters flow on the carriageway.

As a result of rehabilitation tourists and population will be able to connect to Kintsvisi Monastery. Rehabilitation works started in February and will finish in June.

Project is financed from the state budget and its cost is GEL 1 414 000.
