Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia provides  updated photo materials reflecting construction progress of Agara-Zemo Osiauri section in the category of weekly pictures gallery,which was suspended due to heavy snows.

Construction of the Agara-Zemo osiauri road activated with the weather improving. Mentioned section of Agara-Zemo Osiauri is a part of main transit route of the country, At 12 km section construction project it is envisaged to construct 4-lane highway with cement-concrete pavement, 8 parallel bridges,  interchanges, footbridges, underpasses and reinforced concrete culverts. Also, along section shore protection structure works.

Currently, pavement has been constructed along 3 km in 4- lane highway. At this stage, construction of road base and structures are underway on respective section.

According to the project construction period for 12 km long section is 27 month . Construction of 7 km section will be completed by the end of the current year. After that, traffic shall be shifted to a new four-lane cement-concrete road.
