Situation existing on roads

Based on information of Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, as a result of intensive cleaning works traffic is resumed on Gudauri(Posta)-Kobi section of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road for light vehicles.

Following restrictions are established on different sections of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road:

  • Due to clear ice, traffic on Aragvispiri- Gudauri-Larsi section of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road is forbidden for trailers, semi-trailers and for buses with more than 30 seats; for other vehicles movement is free.
  • Traffic on Gudauri(Posta)-Kobi section is admissible through the avalanche protection tunnels without stoppage.
  • One-way traffic is allowed in tunnel for trailers, semi-trailers and for buses with more than 30 seats.
  • Stoppage of vehicles is not allowed during movement along Stepantsminda- Larsi section. 

Traffic restrictions effective on other roads:

  • Vehicles can move on Gombori pass and Vaziani-Gombori-Telavi road without application of antiskid chains; movement is free for all mode of transport. 
  • Due to snow and clear ice, traffic at km37-km55(Nakerala pass) section of Kutaisi-Tkibuli-Ambrolauri road is forbidden for trailers, semi-trailers and buses with more than 30 seats. Movement is free for other mode of transport.
  • Due to heavy snow and clear ice, traffic at km30-km188 (Jvari-Ushguli) section of Zugdidi-Jvari-Mestia-Lasdili road is forbidden for trailers, semi-trailers and buses with more than 30 seats,   but for other vehicles movement at km100-km173 (Lakhamura-Kala) section is permitted by application of antiskid chains, but movement is forbidden at km173-km188 (Kala-Ushguli) section. Movement is free for vehicles with two or more main axis at km30-km188 (Jvari-Ushguli) section.  Traffic is free at km1-km30 (Zugdidi-Jvari) section for all mode of transport.
