Situation existing on roads

Based on information of Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, special restrictions are established on several road sections to ensure passengers’ safety:

Following restrictions are established on different sections of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road:

Due to snow, frost and clear ice, traffic on Gudauri(Posta)-Kobi section of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road is permitted by application of antiskid chains. Movement is free for vehicles with two or more main axis. Traffic on respective section is admissible through the avalanche protection tunnels without stoppage.
One-way traffic is allowed in tunnel for trailers, semi-trailers and for buses with more than 30 seats;
Stoppage of vehicles is not allowed during movement along Stepantsminda- Larsi section.

Traffic restrictions effective on other roads:

Due to snow and clear ice, traffic at km30-km188 (Jvari-Ushguli) section of Zugdidi-Jvari-Mestia-Lasdili road is forbidden for trailers, semi-trailers and buses with more than 30 seats, but for other vehicles movement at km100-km173 (Lakhamura-Kala) section is permitted by application of antiskid chains, but movement is forbidden at km173-km188 (Kala-Ushguli) section. Movement is free for vehicles with two or more main axis at km30-km188 (Jvari-Ushguli) section. Traffic is free at km1-km30 (Zugdidi-Jvari) section for all mode of transport.
Due to intense snow, traffic at km37-km50(Nakerala pass) section of Kutaisi-Tkibuli-Ambrolauri road is forbidden for trailers, semi-trailers and buses with more than 30 seats. Movement is free for other mode of transport.

Abundant precipitation caused activation of avalanche processes that resulted in collapsing of road bed at km5 of Kutaisi-Alpana-Mamisoni pass. Therefore movement on mentioned section is forbidden. Traffic flow is diverted to Gumati-Rioni-Zarati-Opurchkheti road, but movement in this direction is forbidden for trailers, semi-trailers and for buses with more than 30 seats.
Due to complicated meteorological conditions (snow-storm and limited visibility), traffic at km94-km110 (Nardevani-Rodionovka (Paravani)) section of Koda-Partskhisi-Manglisi-Tsalka-Ninotsminda road is forbidden for all mode of transport.
