Traffic is resumed at Gudauri-Kobi section

Based on information of Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, traffic is resumed at Gudauri-Kobi section as a result of implemented intensive cleaning works which have started upon elimination of avalanche hazard.

Special traffic restrictions are established on this section to ensure passengers’ safety:

Due to snow and clear ice, traffic on Gudauri (Posta)-Kobi section of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road is free for vehicles with two or more main axis; for other transport movement is permissible by application antiskid chains.

Based on information provided by National Environmental Agency, movement on Gudauri (Posta)-Kobi section of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road is allowed uninterruptedly through avalanche protection tunnels.

One-way traffic is allowed in tunnels for trailers, semi-trailers and buses with more than 30 seats. Stoppage of vehicles is not allowed during movement along km134-km135 section (Dariali gorge).

Mentioned traffic regime will be enforced under direct supervision and coordination of Patrol Police. Traffic is free at other sections of the road. 

Traffic restrictions are also applied on the following roads:

Due to heavy snow, traffic at km37-km50 (Nakerala pass) section of Kutaisi-Tkibuli-Ambrolauri road is forbidden for trailers, semi-trailers and buses with more than 30 seats. Movement is free for other mode of transport.

Due to snow and clear ice, traffic at km100-km188 (Lakhamura-Ushguli) section of Zugdidi-Jvari-Mestia-Lasdili road is free for vehicles with two or more main axis, but movement for other vehicles is permitted by application of antiskid chains. Traffic is free at km1-km99 (Zugdidi-Lakhamura) section for all mode of transport.

Due to complicated meteorological conditions (snow-storm and limited visibility), traffic at km94-km110 (Nardevani-Rodionovka (Paravani)) section of Koda-Partskhisi-Manglisi-Tsalka-Ninotsminda road is forbidden for all mode of transport.
