Evacuation structure shall be arranged at km 136 of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road to prevent consequences of expected natural disaster and force majeure circumstances. This kind of project is the first in Georgian and in case of disaster it will ensure safe evacuation of passengers and personnel of Customs Department.

Representatives of Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and State Construction Company inspected ongoing works.  

Project considers construction of 208,80 m long and 2,25 m wide evacuation corridor on the rock slope.  Twenty-four hours duty is provided in guardroom specially arranged on the glacier Devdoraki. Relevant services shall promptly close the traffic in disaster zone if alarm is declared.
