On December 5, Business Courier, program of broadcasting company Rustavi 2 prepared TV spot based on the information provided by the citizen Lamara Shainidze, who is dissatisfied with procurement and acquisition of private land plot under Kobuleti bypass construction project. TV spot covered the news subjectively.

Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure makes this announcement to provide accurate information to the public.

Roads Department during construction process received a  statement of Lamara Shainidze, owner of land plot located outside the boundaries of the road under construction, wherein she objected the amount offered by RD – GEL 118 000 (one hundred eighteen thousand) and requested to re-conduct audit.

After re-evaluation carried out based on the citizen’s request, the value verified by independent audit amounted to GEL 85 500 (eighty five thousand five hundred) that was more unacceptable for Mrs. Lamara.

Since the agreement couldn’t be reached with the private land owner, Roads Department was forced to change design in order to avoid delay of the project that has high public need and economical importance.

New design did not require acquisition of above referred land plot. Concrete wall, which supports the embankment, is constructed to protect adjacent population and ensure slope stability.

At this stage, Mrs. Lamara states that road construction inflicts damage to her residential house; also, she is saying that living on that territory is impossible from the ecological standpoint.

LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau performs examination of the mentioned issue on the request of RD. After it is verified whether vibration caused by road construction inflicts damage to residential house, RD shall act according to the law.
