Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia announces with full responsibility that the road is cleared along the entire direction of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road. At Gudauri-Kobi pass section (km94-km104), which is located 2400 m above sea level, under conditions of 15 degree freeze, traffic mode for all types of transport is maintained with application of antiskid chains (road is cleared and sand-salt is spread).

Road clearing works at Gudauri-Kobi section are being performed quickly and effectively. For this purpose, relevant team is working for 24 hours and snow cleaning equipment is mobilized on a permanent basis.

Road clearing and establishment of relevant traffic restrictions  is within competence of Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, while the Patrol Police, under its authority, prevents movement of transport equipped inadequately to the established traffic mode (tyres relevant for winter period and antiskid chains).

We are providing photos which are taken directly on Gudauri-Kobi section and reflect current condition of roads. Also, our camera crews left for Gudauri-Kobi pass section and we offer video material reflecting current situation.

In addition, we apply to TV channels to recheck condition existing on roads and not to guide by the statements of drivers, whose vehicles were not allowed to move on cleaned roads for different reasons.
