Briefing regarding disasters occurred in November

Mr. Nodar Javakhishvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, hold a briefing regarding disasters occurred during the recent days. Natural disasters, took place within November, have incurred damages to many regions of Georgia.  Residential houses as well as private land plots are affected; also it should be noted that roads and bridges of Georgia are damaged. Several sections of Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze central highway are severely damaged, among them is a section at km 206 near Terjola turning (Chkhara River damaged temporary road two times, which is again closed after restoration and at this stage is under restoration). Currently traffic is diverted to Zestaponi-Baghdati road in the direction of Kutaisi. Disaster also affected secondary roads, including: Nokalakevi-Bandza-Khoni road, Kutaisi-Baghdati road, Dzirula-Kharagauli road, Gomi-Sachkhere-Chiatura road.  Abundant precipitation caused landslides on separate sections of Baghdati-Sairme, Tskaltubo-Tsageri-Lentekhi, Keda-Khulo, Kutaisi-Tkibuli, Khaishi-Mestia, Vaziani-Gombori roads. Due to heavy snow and glaze ice problems were created on separate sections of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road, Vaziani-Gombori-Telavi road, Tkibuli-Ambrolauri road, Tbilisi-Tianeti road, Borjomi-Bakuriani road, Tsageri-Lentekhi-Lasdili road, whereon carriageways are cleaned and technical salt is spread. Relevant Units of Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia are involved in disaster clean-up operations from the very beginning and persistently take appropriate measures with regard to cleaning and restoration of the road and removal of vehicles from disaster zone.
