Roads Department will time from time provide the society with updated photographic material reflecting construction and rehabilitation activities at the site. Headline “Picture story from construction site” has been created under column “Multimedia” at the Department’s website where photo gallery reflecting ongoing road construction works, updated on a weekly basis, will be available to everybody.

This time the pictures updated as of September 28 show the construction works ongoing at Zestaponi-Kutaisi bypass.

Construction of 15.2 km section of Zestaponi-Kutaisi bypass ordered by Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is actively progressing.

At 15.2 km section of Zestaponi-new Kutaisi bypass construction project it is envisaged to construct 4-lane highway with cement-concrete pavement, 9 parallel bridges, 2 interchanges, 5 footbridges, underpasses and reinforced concrete culverts.

At mentioned section works for arrangement of base is ongoing at part of the road, while at other part - pavement construction works are under progress.  Currently, pavement has been constructed along 10 km in one direction. Works related to structures and drainage systems are proceeding.

The works are financed by Japan International Cooperation Agency and it amounts to GEL 71.1 million and Euro 22.1 million. About 400 people have been employed for the project.
