Intensive works are being carried out on Agara-Zemo Osiauri Highway section

Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mr. Nodar Javakhishvili and Head of Roads Development and Reconstruction-Modernization Division Mr. Irakli Khergiani, visited works ongoing on Agara-Zemo Osiauri section.  
12 km. section of Agara-Zemo Osiauri is a part of main transit route of the country. As per the project the term for construction of 12 km. long road section is 2 years in total while civil works on 6 km. will be finished until the end of this year which will enable the traffic to switch to a new four lane one-way traffic cement-concrete road. The road is supposed to improve safety on the roads and decrease travel time.   
The works are being carried out by Georgian company “Black Sea Group” in cooperation with a Kuwait company “Copri Construction Enterprises W.L.L”. The cost of the works according to the Agreement exceeds GEL 105 mln. Currently 400 people are employed for construction works. The project is funded by the World Bank.
