Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is implementing the works for rehabilitation of 4 km section of Akhalkalaki-Rkoni road in Kaspi municipality. Deputy Chairman of Roads Department, Irakli Litanishvili visited mentioned road section to inspect the ongoing rehabilitation works.

Under the project asphalt concrete pavement will be constructed; works for arrangement of ditches, entrances to private yards, junctions, road signs and bus stops are also planned.

Section under rehabilitation will pass through Akhalkalaki, Garikula and Ertatsminda villages, which ends at Etratsminda church complex.

The works are financed by the World Bank, cost of which amount to GEL 2 478 700. Forty people are employed for the works. Pursuant to the contract conditions completion of the project was planned in 2016 but, as a result of intensive work, rehabilitation works will be finalized this year.
