Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is rehabilitating 5,7 km section of Akhalkalaki-Noste-Mtiultubani road in Kaspi Municipality. The works progress was observed by the Deputy Chairman of Roads Department Irakli Litanishvili.

Construction of asphalt-concrete pavement, recycling works and arrangement of pipe heads are underway at respective section.

Design considers: recycling the road base and laying a new asphalt-concrete pavement; also arrangement of gabions, culverts, ditches, supporting walls, shoulders and road signs; implementation of road horizontal marking. 

Project is financed by the World Bank and the cost amounts to GEL 3 046 700. Works are expected to complete within the current year. Respective section starts in the territory of the village Akhalkalaki and ends in the territory of the village Mtiultubani. Mentioned road links the villages:  Akhalkalaki, Noste, Mtiultubani with the Georgian road network. Besides it is used for agricultural purposes. 70 persons are employed by the project.
