Representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure and Roads Department met with the consultant Jean Breen, who is a road safety expert in preparation of National Road Safety Strategy of Georgia and Action Plan 2015-2020.

National Road Safety Strategy and Action Plan 2015-2020 should be revised and prepared in restricted time.

Besides the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure and Roads Department, the following agencies are involved into the project: Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Affairs, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Ministry of Education and Science, Tbilisi City Hall and other interested agencies.

Development of mentioned document will promote coordination between the Government agencies and other concerned groups and improve road safety level.

Preparation of National Road Safety Strategy and Action Plan 2015-2020 is financed by the World Bank under the Fourth East-West Highway Improvement Project (EWHIP-4).

Working on the document started in May 2015; completion is expedited and expected in June 2015.
