Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is constructing 19 km section of Kobuleti Bypass road (LOT 2). The works progress was observed by the Chairman of Roads Department Vazha Panchulidze together with the representatives of Asian Development Bank (ADB). Project envisages construction of asphalt-concrete pavement on 18.9 km section, 16 bridges, among them 7 overpasses, 2 tunnels, 64 underpasses and culverts. After completion of mentioned road, transit traffic will be diverted from coastline of Adjara to a new road, which would contribute to ecological advancement of resorts and tourism promotion in the region. Besides, movement will become easier as for locals as well as for transit flows. 350 people are employed by the project. Project is financed by Asian Development Bank (ADB).
