Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia launched rehabilitation of 4,5 km section of Kutaisi-Baghdati-Abastumani-Benara road under the scope of projects planned to be implemented at the I stage of 2015. The First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure George Amashukeli and Chairman of Roads Department  Vazha Panchulidze carried out monitoring of rehabilitation works.

At this stage, cleaning on irrigation channels existing along Kutaisi-Banera road is ongoing; Also arrangement of culverts, ditches and enclosed bus stop is progressing. It is planned to upgrade pavement at 4,5 km road, arrange supporting walls, gabions, junctions, entrances to private yards; also road signs and road marking works will be executed. 

Rehabilitation works are financed by the State budget. Project cost is GEL 3 500 000. Rehabilitation of 4,5 km section of Kutaisi-Baghdati-Abastumani-Benara road shall be completed by the end of the year. Population of four villages will be able to drive comfortably as a result of project implementation.
