Chairman of Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Vazha Panchulidze together with the representatives of Donor Organization carried out monitoring of construction works of Ruisi-Agara section. Main part of construction works considered by the design of modernization-reconstruction of 19 km section is completed. 3 bridges and 4 overpasses, 36 reinforced-concrete culverts and 6 underpasses are already constructed. At this stage bank protection works and arrangement of ripraps are ongoing. Construction of 11 km section of Ruisi –Agara road was completed in 2013-2014; it would be finalized by the end of 2015.

Today, Vazha Panchulidze held a meeting with representatives of the World Bank and design organizations about highway construction at Rikoti Pass. Feasibility study of Zemo Osiauri-Argveta section and detailed design of Zemo Osiauri- Chumateleti section are already started by financial support of the World Bank. After selecting alignment of Rikoti Pass section it would be possible to start design.
