Works for construction of Agara-Zemo Osiauri section are actively progressing

Construction of the E-60 highway continues. Mobilization of relevant equipment and resources to commence the civil works for Agara-Zemo Osiauri section has already started. Works progress was today inspected by the Chairman of Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Vazha Panchulidze together with representatives of the World Bank mission.

The project envisages construction of 12 km long highway section with 4-lane cement concrete pavement. The following structures will also be constructed under the project: 2 interchanges, 4 bridges, 20 reinforced concrete culverts and 3 underpasses.

The works for upgrading of Agara-Zemo Osiauri section (km19 – km31) are financed by the World Bank. Mentioned section constitutes the part of the country’s main transit E-60 highway and is under construction by Kuwait international company “Copri Construction Enterprises W.L.L”, winner of the bidding.   

The project is being implemented with the financial support of the World Bank and its total value is GEL 105 million. The civil works for 6 km out of 12 km Agara-Zemo Osiauri section will be completed this year.
