On the right embankment of Mtkvari in Rustavi City, riverbank reinforcement works are undergoing. The First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Giorgi Amashukeli, together with the Head of the Roads Department of Georgia Vazha Panchulidze inspected ongoing works today.

The fortification works in the vicinity of the bridge started in October 2014 and will finish in a month. In order to control water flow, the rip-rap was arranged and in place of the old, deformed concrete wall a new 34 meter long protection wall is being constructed.

This infrastructure project will protect Rustavi water supply station from damage which ensures provision of water for the City. The project is funded from the state budget and costs 539.000 GEL.
