​JICA is satisfied with the results of collaboration with the Ministry of Infrastructure

32 km of Kutaisi bypass section of East-West Highway will open in the near future and significantly ease access to Kutaisi Airport-declared Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Davit Shavliashvili on the meeting with Vice President of Japan International Corporation Agency (JICA)  Ms. Kae Yanagisawa. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister Giorgi Amashukeli and the Head of Roads Department of Georgia, Vazha Panchulidze.

The length of Kutaisi bypass section of E60 Highway is 57 km. The project’s total cost amounts to 365 mln GEL and is financially supported by JICA. Currently, the construction works of second lot is underway.

As Ms. Yanagisawa emphasized, Japan International Corporation Agency (JICA) is satisfied with the results of collaboration with the Georgian side. He evaluated the works conducted by the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia during last year positively.  The parties also discussed other details of collaboration.

It is noteworthy that in November 2014 Japanese delegation, comprised of construction field professionals will visit Georgia together with other high officials.

Minister Shavliashvili expressed his readiness for meeting with the Japanese delegation and pointed out that sharing expertise in construction field will benefit both parties.
