Construction of Kobuleti bypass road is actively progressing

Chairman of Roads Department Vazha Panchulidze, Deputy Chairman Irakli Litanishvili, Director of Roads Direction of Adjarian Autonomous Republic Zurab Sikharulidze and representatives of Construction Company “Sinohydro” surveyed works ongoing at Kobuleti bypass road (Lot II).

Works at Kobuleti bypass road are progressing intensively. Design considers construction of 19 km asphalt-concrete road, 16 bridges, including 7 underpasses, 2 tunnels and 64 culverts.

Construction of 6 bridges is already completed. It is remained to lay asphalt-concrete pavement. 48 structures, including culverts and underpasses are arranged; arrangement of piles, piers and superstructure at 6 bridges are being implemented at this stage. Also slope stabilization of one tunnel and excavation works are underway.

400 persons are employed on works and 70% of them are Georgian citizens. Construction of Lot II of Kobuleti bypass road commenced in 2013 and will be completed in 2016. Cost of the project amounts to GEL 209,852,079.67 million. Construction works are implemented by contractor organization Sinohydro.
