Implementation of the World Bank funded “Third Secondary and Local Roads Project” (SLRP III) has been commenced.

Rehabilitation of 5,5 km Sasadilo-Orkhevi-Khevsurtsopeli road will start under the mentioned project. Works will be implemented by “Roads Construction Company No.1” Ltd, which won the tender. Project Implementation period is 15 months, contractual price – GEL 2 mln 171 thousand.

Detailed designs for 10 road sections have been already prepared under SLRP III and bidding will be announced by stages for rehabilitation works that in total amounts to 60 km.

We would like to remind you that pursuant to the financial agreement, signed between the Georgian government and the World Bank, additionally USD 75 mln is allocated for construction-rehabilitation of secondary and local roads. Rehabilitation of sections will be implemented by stages and eventually 200km of road will be rehabilitated.

The goal of SLRP III is to reduce transport costs and improve sustainability of road network management.
