Task meeting was held today between representatives of Roads Department and the World Bank. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia, Vazha Panchulidze, Deputy Chairman Irakli Litanishvili, Head of Foreign Projects Unit of RD Vakhtang Razmadze, Senior Economist of the World Bank Mona Prasad and other representatives of the Ministry of Finance.

Parties discussed the issue related to preparation of road sector financing strategy, which should be developed in line with recommendations of the World Bank and will describe funds, required for the Department, an optimal plan for their mastering and deadlines.

One of the main directions of 5-year strategy is funding of roads adequate maintenance.

Road sector financing strategy is subject to the government’s approval.
