Roads Department resumed disaster clean-up operations in the morning

Roads Department uninterruptedly continues disaster clean-up operations in the West Georgia. Representatives of RD are in disaster zones – Guria and Adjara; they carry out nonstop monitoring of the situation; heavy machinery is mobilized and relevant works are being implemented.  

Yesterday, raised river Bzhuzha damaged carriageway due to abundant precipitation; therefore traffic is restricted at km 4 (village Shemokmedi) of Ozurgeti-Shemokmedi-Bzhuzhhesi-Gomismta road. Traffic is allowed through bypass road.  

Upgrading of carriageway damaged as a result of disaster and bank protection works have resumed since morning. Design Company, which started working on the design in a concurrent mode, is on site.  Upgrading of damaged section is implemented by “State Construction Company” LTD

The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Davit Shavliashvili and Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia, Vazha Panchulidze are staying in disaster zone during four days. They survey the situation on place in order to address problems efficiently and immediately.
