Traffic will open on more than 40 km section of the highway during this year. 32 km section of Kutaisi bypass road will open in October, but 11km Ruisi-Agara section will put into operation by the end of the year.

Today, Chairman of Roads Department Vazha Panchulidze, First Deputy Chairman Nugzar Gasviani, Program Team Leader of the World Bank Mustapha Benmaamar and other representatives of the World Bank inspected construction process of the bank financed Ruisi-Agara and Agara-Zemo Osiauri sections.

“Today our mission is carrying out monitoring of construction of Ruisi-Agara and Agara-Zemo Osiauri sections. We are inspecting as work progress as well as its quality and I would like to note that there is a big progress. I am satisfied with the quality of performed works” – stated Mustapha Benmaamar, Program Team Leader of the World Bank.

Construction works at Ruisi-Agara section are proceeding with full rate during 24 hours. Cost of 19 km section amounts to GEL 70 mln and it will be completed next year. Preparatory works continue on Agara-Zemo Osiauri section. Cost of 12 km section is GEL 105 mln. Construction will be completed in 27 months after commencement of construction works.
