Rehabilitated 8 km section of Batumi-Akhaltsikhe road opened today in Adjara region. Chairman of Roads Department Vazha Panchulidze, Head of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Archil Khabadze and Director of Roads Direction of Adjarian Autonomous Republic Zurab Sikharulidze attended road opening.  

Rehabilitation of Batumi-Akhaltsikhe road started in February of the current year with financing of the State budget and the cost amounts to GEL 2 mln 270 thousand.

New pavement was constructed; pipes and concrete supported walls were rehabilitated in compliance with the design. Works related to horizontal marking and installation of new road signs were undertaken. Rehabilitation works were implemented by “Zimo 7” Ltd. About 50 persons are employed for works, majority of them are local residents.
