Government members in natural disaster zone

During prior inspection of Devdoraki and Tergi ravines which are to take place at dawn, scale of damage will be estimated and respective eradication measures will be determined. A group of geologists will study the conditions and present preliminary evaluation results.

All the necessary equipment is mobilized on the site and clean-up works are about to start. Tergi river bed is planned to be artificially extended. As a result of rockslide a temporary bypass road constructed by the Roads Department of Georgia as a response to the disaster of May 17, is blocked up to now. The traffic .. is restricted on the Gorge.

The massive landslide in Devdoraki ravine was caused by intensive rainfall and torrent.

Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Davit Shavliashvili, together with Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Alexander Chikaidze, Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Elgudja Khokrishvili and Minister of Finance Nodar Khaduri, is on Dariali Gorge studying the situation on the spot.
