Tender has been announced for rehabilitation of 9km section of secondary Akhmeta-Telavi-Bakurtsikhe road within the scope of rehabilitation and periodic repair works project 2014 of Roads Department of Georgia. The project road is located in East Georgia, South-West part of Gombori ridge.

Works for rehabilitation of Akhmeta-Telavi-Bakurtsikhe km64-km73 road section will start at the end of August and will be completed by the end of the year.

Design and bidding documents for mentioned works were prepared by Sakgzametsniereba Ltd. as assigned by Roads Department of Georgia.

The section under rehabilitation starts from City Gurjaani and ends at junction of international Tbilisi-Bakurtsikhe-Lagodekhi road, in village Bakurtsikhe.

In March 2014, specialists of Sakgzametsniereba Ltd. executed survey and engineering-geological works on site. According to the conclusion, the project section is in stabile conditions from engineering and geological point of view and meets the requirements for any construction.

Based on design solution, the following works will be implemented:  restoration of defects identified on road pavement, pothole repair of the existing-asphalt concrete pavement, cleaning and repair of shoulders and ditches, repair of the existing culverts, arrangement of the levelling layer, sidewalks, junctions and entrances to private yards, marking of the carriageway.
